The course addresses the opportunities for sustainable design and development of products and services. The goal is to provide a clear starting point for cultivating professional practices toward sustainability. The course will focus on a range of concepts, techniques and scenario-based exercises related to sustainable design and development in professional settings. It will provide a snapshot of how to approach sustainability and its possibilities away from today's device-based practices.
Learning goals
Upon completion of the course, participants will be able to understand the different concepts and goals of sustainability and analyze the prerequisites for sustainable products and services. Participants will be able to focus on the most effective approach to sustainable products and services in practice and have the necessary knowledge to effectively evaluate and present proposals for sustainable products and services.Content

Target group

Prerequisites
- English level of at least B1 (according to the European Framework)
- Own laptop (the course will utilize Miro, an application for brainstorming and presentation)

Dr. Sang Lee
Dr. Sang Lee
Dr. Sang Lee is an architect with a Ph.D. in architecture. He is a tenured University Docent at TU Delft, Netherlands, where he teaches architecture and sustainable design. He has also taught and given lectures on architecture and sustainability at several universities in the EU and the US. Dr. Lee has contributed numerous papers and chapters to international conferences, journals, and books, including the widely cited “Aesthetics of Sustainable Architecture” (2011). For more than a decade, Dr. Lee has expanded his research on the concepts and practices of sustainability to include a wider range of applications beyond architecture. He believes that architecture is the fundamental basis for sustainability since the majority of our material world is concentrated in buildings and cities with complex user experiences. Based on his expertise as an architect, Dr. Lee's courses offer effective topics and applications that are highly relevant to the development of products and services in general.
